Meet the Instructors
A native of Northern Virginia, Rachel Harrington attended George Mason University. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Education. During her time at Mason, she was awarded many accolades, including Best in Performance for her graduating class. She was also recognized as one of DCMetro Theatre Arts Best Supporting Actresses for her role as Princess Puffer in The Mystery of Edwin Drood.
She has had the distinct honor of performing with Patti LuPone and has trained with world-renowned actors such as Stacey Keach and Ed Gero. Rachel is a classically trained singer who has participated in many singing groups, operas and done much solo work. She is a high ranking Mezzo-Soprano who has competed throughout Virginia for a number for titles. Her most recent operatic performance was in The Pirates of Penzance where she portrayed the character of Ruth.
Some of her greatest accomplishments have been in the classroom. Rachel has had a knack for teaching theatre since she was a camp counselor. Throughout college, she continued to work with community theatres and school programs. She later taught high school theatre arts for Fairfax County Public Schools where she had the opportunity to lead a flourishing theatre community. She continues to make strides in arts education and positively impacts more lives with the power of theatre.
As a seasoned performer, educator, and musical director, Jon Blank has cultivated a passion for achieving the highest musical standards. Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from George Mason University, where he is also currently pursuing a master’s degree in music education. He is an orchestral strings teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. Jon is an experienced multi-instrumentalist, and has performed as a pianist and bassoonist with multiple groups and orchestras across the area. Jon has been the Musical Director for over thirty community and educational theatre productions, several of which have received NCA Cappies nominations for “Best Musical”. He enjoys how theatre brings together a vibrant community, and finds joy in providing the best musical education and coaching he can offer.
Samantha Franklin teaches dance and theatre for children at a variety of NoVa venues. She performs in local professional and community theatres, with extensive experience in children’s theatre. She is also a seasoned theatre tech with a focus on choreography. Samantha received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ferrum College.

This class is designed to get kids up and moving and groovin' to some of preschools top music and movement hits! Students will be provided with an encouraging virtual outlet for creative and emotional expression . Come join us and get ready to move!
"Children's Theatre Workshop "

Is your young performer ready to take the stage? Then this is the camp for them! Students will learn basic skills of acting through interactive games and group activities. They will also get the chance to be a part of our children's play where they will participate in rehearsals, memorize lines, and perform for their family and friends on the final day of camp via a virtual play performance. Watch out as your youngster catches the “theater bug!”

All the world's a stage! Is your teenager ready for the next theatre challenge? This two-week theatre intensive is perfect for any student who is interested in taking a deep dive into onstage performance and the backstage tech world. Students will spend the first week working on vocals, movement, and acting in preparation for a virtual showcase that will end the week, which is open to family and friends. While the second week will be filled with exploring set building, costumes, make-up, lighting and so much more!
"College Audition Intensive"

Applying for college, but aren't sure where to start when it comes to auditioning? With our week-long College Audition Intensive course, we help guide prospective performing arts majors into the program of their dreams. Each participant will create an audition binder, complete with a resume, monologues, and headshot. At the end of the week, students will have the opportunity to do a mock audition in front of faculty from local colleges and other local theatre professionals to gain feedback and tips. Join us this summer to act, dance and sing your way into the school of your dreams!
